Understanding the Basics of Cloud Computing and its Future
Getting the Basics Right on Cloud Computing and Its Future
Cloud computing is technology that lets people access and store applications and data over the internet, instead of relying on physical hardware, like a local server or even personal computer. It brings flexibility, cost savings, and scalability; hence, it is an even bigger part of today's digital world.
There are three broad categories of cloud services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), which rents IT infrastructure; Platform as a Service (PaaS), which provides to the developers the platform for the development of an application; and Software as a Service (SaaS), which delivers software over the web-in other words: Google Drive or Netflix.
The future of cloud computing is bright, advancement in 5G technology and edge computing continues to keep cloud services within a much nearer distance. Integration of AI on the cloud also promises enhancement of cloud platforms since it will further make them more efficient and secure, hence the rise of business in cloud form continues to drive the role of cloud computing within our digital ecosystem.
